Storyline:
STORY: ‘Aadha Ishq’ tells the story of a married woman who falls in love with another man, and her daughter who falls in love with the same man, complicating their relationship.
REVIEW: Beginning the series with Gulzar’s poetry sets the tone for the drama and raises viewers’ expectations; however, after watching so many dramas that revolve around the basic premise of love triangles and quadrilaterals, ‘Aadha Ishq’ offers nothing new. It’s an aadhuri love story about a mother and daughter who fall in love with the same man: Rene (Pratibha Ranta) is smitten with her professor Saahir (Gaurav Arora), a man who has a complicated romantic history with her mother, Roma (Aamna Sharif). Saahir arrives in Roma’s life after a ten-year hiatus with dark motives. The atmosphere is tense from the beginning of the drama, particularly when retribution is brought up way too often. There are sections of the show set in Kashmir that is breath-taking, but the drama ultimately relies on its deep-thought language to dive into forbidden love tales.
